Transitions are comon in life and in organizations, including nonprofits. Below is some news from the Marin City CSD sent by Makini Hassan, their Executive Director. Best wishes for Marin City CSD in this new phase of their organization and for Jessica in the new phase of her life. Warm welcome to Andrew and Drew!
Dear Partners, Colleagues, and Friends,
As some of you may know, Jessica Shavers, our prior program manager has left our agency to become a full time law school student. We are very pleased to see Jessica take this step in her career and hear that she is already an outstanding student, and loves law school. While Jessica is irreplaceable, we have made staff additions that are aligned with our agency’s new direction and work.
Andrew Abu Jaoude has joined us as our Client Services Specialist. Andrew has numerous years of experience working as the Recreation Manager at the Marin City Services District, and is well known and respected in the community. He has already done an outstanding job with our Summer Youth Employment Program that provided academic enrichment, career development services, and work experience opportunities to over 60 youth in the community. Andrew has a BA degree in Urban Studies from San Francisco State University. Andrew is working directly with families and individuals in supporting comprehensive income enhancement and progression support through our asset building and workforce services.
Drew Douglass has joined us as our Enterprise Development Director. Drew previously worked for Rubicon Programs Inc, in the East Bay as a Deputy Director of Workforce Services. He’s had a 10 year career with Rubicon, and worked with me during my 6 years as Director of Workforce Services. Like myself, Drew is also a Sector Skills Marano Academy Fellow of the Aspen Institute, and has worked on successful industry sector based initiatives with the workforce team at Rubicon over the past 5 years. Drew has a BA Degree in Psychology from Gwynedd-Mercy College, in Gwynedd Valley, PA. Drew leads our business development efforts both in our own Enterprises, and in services to businesses and entrepreneurs.
We look forward to sharing more about the new direction of our agency in the weeks and months to come. Please join me in welcoming our new team members.
Best Regards,
Makini
