NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

HOUSING ELEMENT UPDATE, CHAPTER THREE OF THE NOVATO GENERAL PLAN

CONSIDER INVENTORY OF HOUSING OPPORTUNITY SITES AND INPUT ON REZONING OPTIONS

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 15, 2009, at 7:30 pm in the Novato School District Board Room at 1015 Seventh St., Novato, California to discuss and provide direction to City Planning Division staff on a preliminary inventory of housing opportunity sites for the Housing Element Update, chapter three of the Novato General Plan. The Planning Commission will also be asked to provide input on rezoning options to allow increased housing density(s) that facilitate affordable housing (multi-family housing etc) on sites included in the inventory of housing opportunity sites. Comments received on or before the June 15th hearing date will be considered by the Planning Commission.

The Planning Commission’s direction on this matter will be further addressed through the preparation of a draft Housing Element Update that will be subsequently reviewed by the Planning Commission for its recommendation to City Council, which has final decision authority.

If anyone wishes to challenge this project in court, they may be limited to raising only those issues they or anyone else raised at or prior to public hearings, including the hearing described in this notice or in written correspondence delivered to the Community Development Department at, or prior to, the public hearings.
